Vintage Gold: The 1974.5 Penton 250 Hits the Shop

Vintage Gold: The 1974.5 Penton 250 Hits the Shop

There are some bikes that just have a "soul," and then there’s the 1974.5 Penton 250.

Walking into the shop today felt like stepping into a time machine. Back before everything was liquid-cooled and fuel-injected, John Penton was rewriting the rulebook on what an off-road bike could do. Seeing this 250 sitting on the stand at WMR Competition Performance reminds us exactly why we fell in love with two wheels in the first place.

Keeping the Legacy Alive

At WMR Competition Performance, we spend most of our days pushing the limits of modern race technology. But you can’t know where you’re going if you don’t appreciate where it all started. Seeing this legend in the shop is a great reminder of the craftsmanship and grit that started the off-road revolution.
